Travel News Roundup

This week's travel news...
  • Summer has finally arrived, making it the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and nice weather. It seems every region of the United States has a summer music festival going on, so you can enjoy some rockin’ tunes in your own corner of the country, or have some fun and take a trip!
  • USAToday Travel shares their list of 51 Great Scenic Drives.  There's a route available for each state.
  • Ritz-Carlton announced this week its plans to increase the number of properties in its portfolio, adding new hotels in key destinations throughout the world.  So far in 2011, Ritz-Carlton has already opened hotels in Toronto, Hong Kong and Dubai.
  • At the International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference last week, chairman Jonathan Tisch called for a move to improve aging infrastructure in the U.S., calling it the biggest challenge facing the hospitality and travel industries. Citing the efforts of competing countries to enhance their travel-related infrastructure, such as high-speed rail lines, he warned that if actions aren't taken to improve travel from the ground up, the US will be looked over in terms of international travel.

Each Friday, we gather the week's news articles relating to luxury travel and trending topics that sparked our interest. If you see an article that you'd like to share, please email socialmedia@frosch.com!
