First snow!

Rumors of snowflakes have surfaced today, and that can only mean one thing-- ski season is near! Get ready to bundle up and hit the slopes-- we hope this will be another record-breaking snowfall year! If it's still hot in your neck of the woods (as it is in our Houston headquarters!) then may these photos inspire you to start planning this winter's ski vacation!

Our friends at the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch posted this photo of the first flakes on their facebook page. We bet their canine ambassadors, Bachelor and Miner, will enjoy frolicking in the fresh powder.

Near Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley has reported the first snowfall of the season, a thick blanket of white. And in Washington, Mt. Ranier saw snow flurries less than 43 days after last season's snow finally melted in August.

Mountain Lodge Telluride posted this great photo illustrating the quick transition from fall to winter!

Even though it's only October we're looking forward to the start of the ski season-- looks like it will be another good year!  Keep an eye on ski.com's snow report, a great tool that monitors ski conditions around the world.
