Morocco

The promos for ABC’s new summer bubblegum adventure/reality tv show Expedition: Impossible: Kingdom of Morocco have got us thinking about the land of Casablanca, camels and sand dunes (about 90% sand dunes according to the ads).

Morocco is a country whose rich history and evolving cultural identity underscore the immense natural beauty of the region, which, yes, includes more than just sand dunes.  It’s a great spot for relaxation, spa-going and mint-tea-sipping in a secluded hideaway—we like Sir Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamodot and the Sofitel Fès Palais Jamaï (also, we offer special FROSCH-only rates at these hotels).  To explore more of the country and amp up the energy level, A&K’s Morocco trip includes a camel ride experience as well as a desert tented camp overnight.

Whether or not Expedition: Impossible turns out to be just another campy summer reality show, it’ll be sure to showcase Morocco’s beauty and the myriad of adventure activities that the country has to offer, inviting and inspiring travelers who might look to Morocco as an alternative to visiting other Middle East countries.

Before you go, be sure to take a look at the U.S. State Department’s page on Morocco for information about traveling safely within the country.
